Case: T 5880-23

“Two Authorisations”

An authorisation has not been deemed to be revoked in the prescribed manner when the principal has issued a new authorisation with more limited powers. Nevertheless, the powers under the previous authorisation could not be invoked by a third party who should have understood that the principal’s intent, through the new authorisation, was to limit the powers of the agent (Section 20 of the Contracts Act).
